New CPL Web Portal for Sample Submission and Project Tracking
Streamlining sample submission, project tracking, and pathology reporting for UC Davis and external research partners
We are pleased to share that the Comparative Pathology Laboratory will be launching a new online submission portal and project tracking system on August 3rd, 2026.
This enhanced portal is designed to streamline the submission process, improve communication and clarity, and provide greater visibility into your projects from submission through final reporting. Our goal is to make working with CPL more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly.
What to expect:
- Create new submissions and submit project inquiries
- Request and view estimates and quotes directly in the portal
- Submit work using approved estimates, with clearly defined expiration dates
- Access a dedicated “Projects” area to track cases and related estimates
- View results through web-based reporting (PDF reports still available)
- Create and manage billing accounts, including external and intercampus requests
- Select approved billing accounts during submission via dropdown menu
- Access prior submissions and reuse them for future requests (coming soon)
- Use a modern, responsive interface across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
We recognize this represents a transition from your current submission process. To support a smooth rollout, we will provide:
- Step-by-step guides and short video tutorials
- Live online demonstrations
- Advance notice of key dates and next steps
There is no action required at this time. We will share detailed instructions and support resources well in advance of launch.
As always, our team is here to support you. We truly appreciate your continued partnership and look forward to introducing this enhancement to our services.
