Welcoming Dr. Sarah Cook

The UC Davis Comparative Pathology Laboratory is pleased to welcome Dr. Sarah Cook, DVM, PhD, DACVP, who has joined CPL full-time as a staff pathologist.

 

 

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Sarah Cook to our team. Dr. Cook is a board-certified anatomic pathologist with expertise in comparative pathology, translational research, ocular pathology, and digital pathology.

New CPL Web Portal for Sample Submission and Project Tracking

 

We are pleased to share that the Comparative Pathology Laboratory will be launching a new online submission portal and project tracking system on August 3rd, 2026

This enhanced portal is designed to streamline the submission process, improve communication and clarity, and provide greater visibility into your projects from submission through final reporting. Our goal is to make working with CPL more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly.

Advocacy for Veterinary Education: Addressing Faculty Shortages and Future Needs

ADVOCACY DAY 2024. Denise Imai-Leonard, Director of the Comparative Pathology Laboratory, went to Capitol Hill to advocate for the future of veterinary medical education with Dean Stetter of UC Davis and Dean Tegzes, Executive Associate Dean McClure and Director Diniz from Western University. The need is pressing. Access to care, food safety, animal welfare, pandemic prevention, medical innovation, environmental health and conservation, are only a few spaces in which veterinarians are critically needed.
